WX
Last updated: June 17, 2026
Simple Summary: WX does not collect, store, transmit, or share your personal information. Location is used only to show weather for places you choose. Saved cities and settings stay on your device and in your iCloud account when sync is enabled.
WX is a private weather app designed for personal use. We do not operate servers that receive your personal data, and we do not sell or share user information.
When you enable Current Location or grant location access, WX uses your device’s GPS to show weather for where you are. Location data is used only on your device to request forecasts and is not transmitted to us.
The app stores the following data locally on your device and, when iCloud sync is enabled, in your private iCloud Key-Value storage:
WX requests forecast and air-quality data from Open-Meteo and official weather alert services (such as the U.S. National Weather Service and Environment and Climate Change Canada). Requests include coordinates for the city you are viewing — not your name or account information.
If you enable severe-weather push notifications, Apple’s notification system delivers alerts based on weather data the app receives. Notification permission is managed entirely through iOS or macOS Settings.
WX does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
